When the major or entire part (more than 50%) of the building is for dwelling purposes it is considered a residential building. Temporary dwellings primarily used for recreation are considered holiday houses.

Non-residential buildings are detailed in accordance with Eurostat requirements by function. Non-residential buildings are used for official, administrative, commercial, tourism, entertainment, education, health care, sport, transportation, telecommunication, industrial, or agricultural purposes.

Moody's Analytics supplements

We compute the monthly count of permitted multi residential dwelling units.

For the monthly count of mutli and single residential permitted dwelling units, we compute a seasonally adjusted counterpart. We then compute the total seasonally adjusted count of residential permitted dwelling units.
