The Italian National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT) reports monthly business confidence indexes (BCI) for construction, market services, and retail trade sectors.

The business confidence survey is a part of the joint harmonized EU programme of business and consumer surveys. It surveys assessments and expectations concerning a firms' main activities. A sample of 700 firms in three different economic divisions according to NACE Rev. 2 (section F) is used. Firms that are sampled have three or more employees and are partitioned from four geographic areas.

Data is collected using CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing) technique.
