For Slovakia, the statistics of internal trade includes all subjects with the prevailing activity of wholesale, retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, wholesale trade except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (the resale of new and used goods to retailers, professional users, or to other wholesalers) and retail trade except of motor vehicles and motorcycles (the sale of new and used goods to final consumers for personal or household consumption).

Receipts for performances and goods themselves include all receipts for products themselves, receipts from services sales and receipts for goods, which are realized by an enterprise for all its activities. Data are aggregated in accordance with main economic activity of enterprises and are without value added tax and consumption tax. Data are calculated from monthly statistical survey results in reporting units (enterprises registered in business register) and with 20 and more employees regardless of legal form. A selective survey and successive finish counting for the whole complex of units are conducted on behalf of enterprises with 19 employees and less and on behalf of entrepreneurs.
