The source writes:
The data are derived from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) using the ILO approach. The LFS is based on a quarterly random sample of dwellings from all areas of the Slovak Republic. The sample covers 10,250 dwellings in the Slovak Republic, which represent 0.6 % of all permanently occupied dwellings. The LFS collects the data on every person living in the household of a selected dwelling. The LFS covers approximately 25,000 people, aged 15 or over, every quarter. The institutional population (that is, persons in prisons, convents, etc..) is not included in the survey. Each selected household remains in the sample for five consecutive quarters.Seasonally adjusted quarterly data on total employment and employment rate are published in the quarterly publication " Labour Force Sample Survey Results in the SR" within 3 months after the end of the reference quarter.
Under the Labour Force Survey (LFS) methodology, employed persons are defined as all persons aged 15 and over, who, during the reference week: performed at least one hour of work for wages, salary or profit (full-time or part-time job, permanent job, temporary, casual or seasonal job); or had a job but did not work due to illness, holiday, maternity leave, training, bad weather conditions, strike and lock-out. (This group does not include persons on long-term unpaid leave from work and persons taking parental leave). The definition of employed persons also includes contributing family workers; persons working abroad; professional members of the armed forces. Industrial coverage All industries are covered .Occupational coverage All occupations are covered. Geographical coverage, the whole country is covered. The sample of dwellings covers all79 districts of the Slovak Republic. Population coverage, All persons aged 15 years and over are covered. Excluded are institutionalized persons, foreign citizens with temporary stay, and persons residing abroad. For data up to 1996, persons on compulsory military service were excluded.
Monthly data for the last quarter are preliminary and are adjusted on the base of quarter-year reports for enterprises with number of employers to 19 persons (including) and additionally reported corrections of monthly reports by reporting units. In the event of any revisions, a notice indicating that the data have been revised is placed on the Internet website of the SO SR and the revised status of the data is indicated in all relevant publications.
After the EU-wide redefinition of March 2024, reported data were truncated to 2010m1, so we back-extended all series (employment and wages) over the interval 2009m1 to 2009m12.
For the average monthly wage (in nominal EUR), we construct a seasonally adjusted counterpart.
