Definition: Employment - employed persons comprises all persons aged 15 years old and over who, during the reference week, have worked at least one hour for remuneration in the form of a wage, salary, commission or payment in cash or kind, for profit or family gain or had a job or an enterprise but were not in work.
Related item - Hours of work: The hours referring to main job are defined as hours actually worked or usual hours; the hours referring to secondary job are defined only as hours actually worked. The time unit is hours per week.
Related item - Employment-related income: Income from paid employment for employees is measured by the net monthly payment and additional payments from the main job.
Relationship with international standards: The definition of employment adopted corresponds to those recommended by the ILO and adopted at the EU level by EUROSTAT.
